The American Student Tour of Provençe

$1,650 for 22 days, summer only, excludes airfare.

These "tours" are different from our tours in several respects. Your student gets 21 full nights, not just two weeks. You may accompany him/her. Of course on these educational tours we pretty well force you to speak French. We make you go out with us to the market and help you converse with the greengrocer and Boulanger.

Our rules are pretty tight, but we take you to some places where other tours don't, where French 15-18 year olds hang out, like the great beaches to the South (but you have to visit the castle first). If you skateboard, bring it. If you like swimming or tubing in a languorous river filled with French students of the same age group, this is the tour for you.

As far as the rest of it, namely culture, festivals, history, folklore, palaces, castles, abbeys, Roman amphitheaters, and a touch of French-Italian food, I think you'll like it too. We do this three times per year, from the first week of June to the second week of August, in groups of 6 to 14, and have taken children as young as 12.

Parents are encouraged to come with their children, spending all or part of the 21-nights in Avignon. We visit StRemy/Glanum, Arles, Uzés/Pont du Gard, Isle-sur-Sorgues/ Fontaine de Vaucluse, Orange/ Chateauneuf du Pape, Les Baux/Daudet's Mill, and Gordes /Abbey of Sénanque, and some great beaches on the Côte D'Azur.

The Student tour is priced at $1650 for 3 weeks, and includes breakfast and dinner. Three per year, accompanied by Teacher/Proctors, beginning June 6 and ending August 12.
